Purging and cleaning...

seriously. We worked up to this 30 yard dumpster by making piles but we filled it in 4.5 hrs. Just the 2 of us. My folks haven't thrown out anything in years!!!

Taking a break...

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am forced to set aside this blog for a while. On the upside when I am able to return I'll have lots to say about cleaning and decluttering.

Friday Fess Up

My big project for the week is polishing or conditioning all the woodwork. After a long, dry winter it all needs a little TLC. I can't believe how big of job it is...we have a lot of wood trim and cabinetry. This job..since I'm starting on it today...may take me into next week.

Friday Fess up on Saturday

I'm a little late...I thought about it last night after I had already crawled into bed. I've had sick kids for 10 days now. This weeks cleaning task was disinfecting everything. Door knobs, railings, light switches, remote controls, phones and the computer keyboards.

I've come to the conclusion that I've pretty much rid our house of the extra clutter. I'm sure I'll still find stuff from time to time to purge. I'm revising the weekly goal to a monthly goal of 1 Target size bag of stuff to purge.

Kids onboard as well!

I mentioned that I had the kids picking up the other day. They both decided, without any prompting from me, to get rid of a few toys. They've seen me getting rid of things we don't use and it must have struck a cord with them.

Friday Fess Up

Accountability day was just sounding to boring.

This week I put 5 more shirts in the donate bin. I'm going to need to take that stuff in to donate pretty soon. It's starting to take up a lot of space.

I took out the long handled duster and cleaned all the cobwebs off the ceilings and also washed the soffit area above my kitchen cabinets.

I've got the kids picking all their junk as well. This task is almost harder than doing it myself!
